Whitepaper:
The Material Compatibility Between Spray Foam Insulation and Henry Blueskin SA
This white paper addresses the peeling issues between Spray Polyurethane Foam Insulation (SPF) and Henry Blueskin SA, an asphaltic-based air barrier, observed across Canada in late 2022. Investigations revealed that the adhesion failures were related to the SPF’s dimensional stability rather than the compatibility with Blueskin SA. Testing indicated that inadequate stability in the SPF could cause it to contract, leading to detachment from the Blueskin SA. The issue highlights the critical nature of SPF products’ dimensional stability, especially in harsh climates, to maintain integrity and performance.
The conclusion drawn is that the observed compatibility problems stem from the dimensional instability of certain SPF products, not from an inherent issue with the materials themselves. Carlisle Spray Foam Insulation’s SealTite One, showed effective compatibility and stability in tests, adhering well to Blueskin SA without peeling.
Whitepaper:
Long Term-Thermal Performance of Spray Applied Foam Insulation
This paper sets out to provide insight into Canadian standards and their intent, with a particular focus on the effects of
time on thermal resistance of medium density closed-cell spray foam insulations, historical data using older technologies. The paper will also discuss how newer technology in spray foam is outperforming its predecessors and competitors.
